Well its been a good 2 day stretch for me so far after starting out the week in the minus column. Both the Red Sox and Dodgers were victorious yesterday, even though i felt the Dodgers almost let one get away. Thank god the Cubs are struggling because they left the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth with a chance to win the game but L.A. found a way to pull it out or should i say the Cubs invented another way to lose a game. When a ball club is going good I always seem to notice that they catch all the breaks when the game is on the line, but the exact opposite is true when the team is in disarray. I have read on many sports gambling forums that people are still betting on teams with losing streaks because they think that the team is due for a win. This is the most absurd thing i have ever heard, if you really stop and think about it. If a team has struggled for the last 2 weeks including last night, what makes you so sure they will be fine the next day, that they are some how due for a win. This kind of mentality is why Las Vegas has those nice big hotels and casino's and the sports books and bookies live like kings. Unless some magical fairy sprinkles fairy dust in that struggling teams water I just don't see how a team just magically turns it on, especially teams like the Washington Nationals who can't even tie their shoes right. I'm not claiming that betting this way is 100% effective because nothing is for sure in this business, but if you want to stay some what consistent with your profits I would recommend staying away from teams that are presently struggling to compete. A team like the Blue jays for example, who have lost 9 in a row will snap out of it eventually and who knows they may even make the playoffs, but for the time being you must stay away until they get hot again. And the same can be said for a handful of teams that are struggling right at this moment who are expected to be their in the end, they may very well be their come October but its May and they are struggling so you should concentrate on teams that are firing on all cylinders right now. Anyway that's all I got for today, now on to today's card....
MLB
2:20 pm(est)
L.A. Dodgers (-110)
Chicago Cubs (-110)
Not much to explain on this game, everyone who has been following along knows whats going on here. But I really like it that the Dodgers are sending one of their best pitchers in Chad Billingsley who has pitched well in the friendly confines of Wrigley field in his last 2 starts their. The Cubs will send out lefty Ted Lilly who i expect will get hammered tomorrow by this Dodgers offense(L.A. is batting .354 avg versus lefties in their last 10 games).
Betting on: L.A. Dodgers Moneyline(-110)(2.20 units)
Final Score:
L.A. Dodgers 1 (lost)(-2.20 units)
Chicago Cubs 2
MLB
8:05 pm(est)
Cincinnati (+100)
Milwaukee (-120)
The Reds are 6-4 in their last 10 games and have won 4 straight, but the real news is that they come to miller park sporting a 8-3 record in their last 11 trips against the brew crew on their home field. The reds will send out phenom Johnny Cueto who has dominated the Brewers in his 3 career starts against them, which is more than i can say for Milwaukee's starter Braden Looper who has given up his fair share of runs against the reds in his career. One other thing is that the Brewers are 4-6 in their last 10 and have lost 5 of their last 6 games(yikes!!).
Betting on: Cincinnati Moneyline(+100)(2.00 units)
Final Score:
Cincinnati 2 (lost)(-2.00 units)
Milwaukee 3
MLB
10:15 pm(est)
St. Louis (+105)
San Fransisco (-125)
The Giants maybe 5-5 in their last 10 but they have won 3 straight and are always a force at home. Tonight they will send out Matt Cain who has pitched quite well of late, and in addition the Giants have been hitting slightly better than the Cardinals in the last 10 games. Even though St. Louis is 7-3 in their last 10 and have won 2 in a row I still think all their injuries will eventually catch up to them and it may start on this west coast road trip against the stacked pitching of this San Fransisco ball club.
Betting on: San Fransisco Moneyline(-125)(2.50 units)
Final Score:
St. Louis 2
San Fransisco 4 (win)(+2.00 units)
