Well yesterday was just what the doctor ordered, after starting out the week at 1-3 I've was able to sweep the board for a nice profit. But in this business you can never get to comfortable, because that's when the losing streaks start to kick in and before you know it you find your self chest high in quick sand and sinking too fast to recover. I really did feel that yesterday's Tigers/Royals game would be tampered with in some way, but it seemed to have played out just like the numbers suggested. The Tigers seem to have control of the AL central division for now and its safe to say that they will probably continue this pace for a little while longer as their schedule really favors them in these next few games. In the other game, the Yankees got off to a great start against Texas, they managed to score 3 quick runs in the first 2 innings and got a solid performance from headcase starter A.J. Burnett. With the Boston Redsox losing yesterday it puts the Yanks tie for first place in the AL east with the Sox and should make for an interesting June as these 2 proud franchises battle for the division lead. On a sad note, my beloved Toronto Blue Jays are an absolute mess these days. They have managed to lose 9 games in a row and have been swept 3 times in 3 different cities by 3 different teams(yikes). The Jays were hitting the cover off the ball and getting some good pitching but its has all fallen apart and its really frustrating for Jays fans like myself. Their once 3.5 game lead in the AL east has all but disappeared and now they find themselves in second place behind New York and Boston. The Jays have some soul searching to do and they need to do it in a hurry because they'll have to face the Redsox for a 3 game set starting Friday in Toronto. I'm hoping some home cooking will get them back on the right foot because they can't afford to lose to many more games to their division rivals or be left to face the ultimate consequence of falling out of the division race for good. Now on to today's card......
MLB
1:10 pm(est)
Boston (-125)
Minnesota (+105)
Now that the Sox have let the Yanks tie them in the standings by losing 2 in a row to the Twins, I think they come out with a sense of urgency and blast away at the Twins young hurler Anthony Swarzak who has very little major league experience. It also helps that Sox ace Josh Becket is taking the mound, in his last few starts he has pitched really good and is showing signs of his old dominate self, Twins bats should be silenced most of this game.
Betting on: Boston Moneyline(-125)(2.50 units)
Final Score:
Boston 3 (win)(+2.00 units)
Minnesota 1
MLB
8:05 pm(est)
L.A. Dodgers (+110)
Chicago Cubs (-130)
In my honest opinion the Cubs should not be a favorite against anyone, especially the red hot Dodgers who are smashing to town winning 8 of their last 10 and coming off a sweep of the Colorado Rockies at Coors field. In case anyone has forgot, the Cubs are 2-8 in their last 10 and if it wasn't for my Jays this team would be the worst team in the league during this week and a half time span.
Betting on: L.A. Dodgers Moneyline(+110)(2.00 units)
Final Score:
L.A. Dodgers 2 (win)(+2.20 units)
Chicago Cubs 1
