Hello again my friends, well it was one of those days yesterday where everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. The game I'm specifically talking about is the Reds and Brewers in Milwaukee which was shaping up to be a pretty good game until about the eight inning. The game was tie 2-2 in the bottom of the 7th when Brewers right fielder Corey Hart belted a solo shot to give the crew a 3-2 advantage. Well in the top of the 8th inning the Reds came out firing by getting the first 2 batters on base via base hits. This brought up the pitchers spot where Reds manager Dusty Baker immediately brought in a pinch hitter to bat for the pitcher. Now as the batter was still warming up on deck the Reds announcers were saying how well this batter has done bunting in certain situations. With runners on 1st and 2nd this was a perfect time to bunt so they could advance them into scoring position where even a fly ball out would tie the game and your still looking good with one out to play with and another runner in scoring position. But NOOOOO!!!! the manager decides to let the batter swing away, and you could all guess what happened next, yup he grounded into a double play. Now instead of runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out, its 2 outs with only one runner in scoring position and the next guy ends up getting out to end the inning and kill a rally that could have led to a lead in the game and possibly a win. This kind of bonehead managing is what can absolutely kill a bankroll because you know the other team is struggling so bad and they are barley hanging by a string and your manager can't even get the simple fundamentals of baseball right when the game is on the line. I will try to stay away from the Reds for a while until Mr. Baker brushes up on his baseball knowledge or stops tanking the game on purpose because he bet on the other team(Dusty your making it look too obvious!!). Now on to today's card....
MLB
4:10 pm(est)
L.A. Dodgers (+135)
Chicago Cubs (-143)
Even though they lost yesterday I'm going to stay on this money train until it starts to slow down, plus I don't really think Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster is all that great and very hittable against these Dodgers bats. L.A.'s starter Eric Stults has pitched well and the Dodgers seem to give him alot of run support on the days he pitches. With L.A. at plus money and 7-3 in their last 10 games, its not hard to see where the value is at here.
Betting on: L.A. Dodgers Moneyline(+135)(2.00 units)
Final Score:
L.A. Dodgers 0 (lost)(-2.00 units)
Chicago Cubs 7
MLB
8:10 pm(est)
San Diego (+110)
Colorado (-130)
The Padres are still one of the hottest teams in the league despite their loss last night. I like the fact that San Diego's starter Joshua Geer has pitched extremely well against the Rockies in his short career. Greer has pitched 18 innings and has allowed 4 earned runs with 13 strikeouts lifetime versus Colorado. The Rockies send Jason Hammel to the mound who was tagged for 4 earned runs in 3 innings versus the Padres back in April. I really think San Diego gets back to their winning ways tommorow and I think Vegas agrees because they set this line really low(+110).
Betting on: San Diego Moneyline(+110)(2.00 units)
Final Score:
San Diego 7 (lost)(-2.00 units)
Colorado 8
