spread picks

January 3, 2009

Good day my friends and welcome back, well yesterday i went on a rant about how Vegas was getting back at some of the sharps and allowing the public to win most of their spread betting plays just to get back some of the money they had lost in December, but i was also convinced that it would not last and that sooner or later the evil hand of Vegas would burn the public like it always does. Well it didn't take long, yesterday's Mississippi win over Texas Tech was one such example as 80% of the public was riding the Red Raiders who were outplayed by the Rebels from the 2nd quarter on. I must admit when Texas Tech jumped out to a 14-0 lead i was grinding my teeth, but in my honest opinion i believe the Red Raiders were told to blow that game, as a matter of fact as the game went on and Mississippi tied the score and eventually took the lead you could see the Red Raiders making mistakes on purpose(it was quite comical). But they didn't stop there, because later on the game between between Utah and Alabama was also staged in my opinion. Alabama was clearly the better team and all week i had read throughout countless forums on how the Crimson tide(75% public money) would cover easy and that Utah was out matched both physically and mentally. Well if you seen the game it was ugly from the start as Utah quickly jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and basically never looked back. I know some people are asking well what about the Liberty bowl which was also played yesterday, and my response to this is that game had equal amounts of money on both side from what i could tell as with a few other bowl games the last week. I think only the games that have large amounts of money on one side are the ones that are tampered with and those are the ones i love to go after. It is very difficult these days to get the correct spread betting information that you need to make an accurate prediction, but with a little hard work you can usually find enough to point you in the right direction if you know what your looking for. Well that's it for me today my friends, I'll be back in a little while with today's selections.

NHL
7:05 pm(est)
N.Y. Rangers(+145) at Washington(-165)

The N.Y. Rangers will try to avenge a loss to the Caps back on December 23rd when they blew a 4-0 lead to Washington in overtime in front of the Madison Square Garden faithful. The Capitals have a few key injuries so look for the Rangers to take advantage of this. I also expect the Rangers to come out with an attitude so don't be surprise if we see a fair share of fights.

Betting on: N.Y. Rangers Moneyline(+145)

Final Score:
N.Y. Rangers 1 (lost)
Washington 2

NFL
AFC Wild Card Playoffs
8:o5 pm(est)
Indianapolis(-3) at San Diego(+3)

The Colts are clearly the better team here, the AFC west was the weakest division in the conference and lets face it these are not the same Chargers we are used to seeing in the past. Some might argue that the Chargers are the Colts cryptonite but i just can't see how the super Chargers hang around with this much improved Colts team. It also doesn't help when LaDainain Tomlinson has a groin tear and is questionable for this game tonight, which is a huge blow to this offense. One other thing is i like the way the way the numbers have played out for this game so I'll take a chance with Indy tonight.

Betting on: Indianapolis(-3)(-105)

Final Score:
Indianapolis 17 (lost)
San Diego 23 (OT)

NHL
10:30 pm(est)
Philadelphia(-115) at L.A. Kings(-105)

Not much to say about this game other than the kings are pathetic, just watching some of their games they seem to have a hard time scoring against bad teams, and now the Flyers come marching into town on a 2 game road winning streak and 6-4 in their last 10 games. My only concern is that the Flyers played in a overtime shootout last night against Anaheim so tired legs could be a factor, but the way the Kings play it probably won't matter how tired Philly is because if you make mistakes with the puck other teams will make you pay, especially a team that is on a roll.

Betting on: Philadelphia Moneyline(-115)

Final Score:
Philadelphia 1 (lost)
L.A. Kings 2 (OT/SO)
