Happy new year everyone, i trust we all have hang overs and are trying to recover today. Well yesterday i was able to break even with the Calgary win over Edmonton. Jarome Iginla and Michael Cammalleri closed out the year in style for the Calgary Flames. Iginla and Cammalleri each had two goals and three assists to lead Calgary to a 6-4 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night During his 12 seasons with the Flames, Iginla has had four points on 14 occasions, including twice this season. But he had never reached five points until he had an assist on Cammalleri's empty-net goal in the third. Adrian Aucoin and Dustin Boyd also scored for the Flames (22-11-4), who have won four in a row and have earned points in nine straight games. Craig Conroy and Daymond Langkow each chipped in with two assists, and Miikka Kiprusoff made 28 saves to record his league-leading 22nd win of the season. Denis Grebeshkov had a goal and three assists for the Oilers (17-16-3), who have lost two straight after reeling off three wins in a row. They allowed Calgary to go 3-for-5 on the power play. Robert Nilsson, Lubomir Visnovsky and Eric Cole also scored for the Oilers, and Sam Gagner had two assists. Dwayne Roloson stopped 31 of 37 shots and his three-game winning streak was snapped. The Oilers opened the scoring at 1:27 of the first period when Grebeshkov crept in off the point to swat a rebound past Kiprusoff. Iginla then notched his 17th of the season to snap a five-game goal-scoring drought, before Nilsson put the Oilers back up by one with a power-play goal at 5:24 of the first period. The Flames responded with a power-play goal of their own when Cammalleri converted a pass from Iginla to tie it at 2. Iginla put the Flames up 4-3 when he took a pass from Langkow and snapped a shot from the slot past Roloson during a power play at 5:50 of the third period. Boyd then swatted a rebound past Roloson at 7:25 of the third before Cammalleri scored into an empty net to put the Flames up by three. This was basically the game as the Oilers tacked on another late with 8 seconds left but was much too late as time expired making me 2-2 for the day which is all you can ask when you get off to a bad start like i did. Anyway that's it for me today, i will be back in a little bit with my first pick, until then good luck in all your spread betting decisions.

Michigan State(+10) at Georgia(-10)Way too many people on the Bulldogs today, even though they are the much more talented team im going against the grain here and taking a chance on the Spartans who have been solid, not great but just maybe good enough to hang around and cover the spread. I am always leary about putting my money in the public stack, because i always picture the hand of Vegas snatching it away. this line orignally opened at Georgia (-5.5) and everyone and their mother bumped up to Georgia (-10), that's alot of money on just one side. I gotta fade this big time,

Penn St(+10.5) at USC(-10.5)ok guys, real quick i think Penn state has a good enough offense to keep up with USC, and i look for them to hang around and get the cover. I like Penn States running game enough to roll with them here, good luck to whatever you may choose.
