I will be going back to the well again and taking the Blue Jays to avenge a very difficult extra inning loss yesterday night at the hands of the Tribe. Being a Blue Jays fan it was very difficult to watch them come within one strike of winning the ball game only to see the Indians tie it up and send it to extra frames. The Jays have responded well in these situations before, so i will bank on their explosive offense to carry them for the win. Toronto will send rookie Brett Cecil who was just called up from AAA Las Vegas and is making his major league debut. Normally most handicappers would not even consider a bet on a pitcher who is unproven in the league, but I have a hunch that the Jays will come out swinging early against Indians starter Anthony Reyes, who is mediocre at best. One advantage that I do have is the fact that none of the Cleveland batters have faced young Brett Cecil so I think he should be able to keep them off balance for a few innings until they adjust to him half way through the game. On the other hand the Jays have already seen Reyes in Cleveland a few weeks back and managed to tag him for 4 earned runs in a 8-4 Blue Jays loss. In my opinion if Cecil throws strikes and limits his walks, he should get through at least 5 innings before Cleveland starts to figure him out(but if he's wild the jays may be in trouble). So giving the Jays batters 5 innings to pick apart Reyes will be more than enough time to build a nice size lead.

The Yankees will send starter Joba Chamberlain to the mound to snap a current 2 game losing streak and try to break into the win column against the Red Sox this year. He will be opposed by Boston's ace Josh Beckett who has struggled in his last 2 starts pitching 9 and 2/3 innings and giving up an alarming 15 earned runs. And to top it off one of those 2 teams were the Yankees, who went into Fenway park and laid the wood to the struggling right hander in a 16-11 loss. Chamberlain has had off field distractions of late but I don't believe they will come into play tonight against the hated Red Sox. Chamberlain's lifetime numbers against the Sox are very impressive, he has pitched 18 and 1/3 innings giving up 4 earned runs and striking out 16(yikes). Another plus for the Yankees is the fact that Boston slugger Kevin Youkilis(batting .393) has been battling back problems the last week, and rumor has it that he will probably not be in the lineup for tonight's game.
