January 9 2009

Greetings friends and welcome back, well the L.A. kings surprised me last night with their offensive outburst as they took it to the Ducks 4-3 at the staple center on Tuesday night. I'm still convinced that this team will continue to cover the unders so long as they keep the same players and the same system in tact. I want to also send out a congratulations to the Florida gators for a job well done in capturing another BCS championship. They managed to beat the number one team in the nation last night 24-14 in a game that was close all the way til the end. Despite throwing a couple of interceptions Tim Tebow showed the world why some feel he should have won the Heisman over Sam Bradford this year. He led his team like a field General in war as he continually picked up first downs both with his arm and his legs. He single handily put his teammates on his back as he diced up the talented Oklahoma defense. Tebow gave an unforgettable press conference after a loss back in November where he told reporters that he would personally do everything he could to fulfill the ultimate goal of winning a national title. He spoke of giving everything he had to make it a reality, and last night the man lived up to that promise. I hope the NFL scouts were paying close attention because this man has that Montana-Brady like mentality. I expect this young man to be a force on Sundays and I'm banking that his future will have more than just championship bowl games on his plate, but maybe a Vince Lombardi trophy or two.

NBA
7:05 pm(est)
Atlanta(+5) at Orlando(-5)

This is a home and home series in which these two teams played a couple of days ago in Atlanta. The Magic ended up winning that game 106-102, so i look for the Hawks to come out and get a bit of revenge on the Magic's home court, Atlanta is 11-3 ATS in Orlando over the last 11 games played their and the underdog is 6-2 ATS in this series over the last 8 games.

Taking: Atlanta (+5)(-110)

Final Score:
Atlanta 87 (lost)
Orlando 121

NBA
10:35 pm (est)
Dallas(+6.5) at Phoenix(-6.5)

The Mavericks are coming off a tough game versus the New York Knicks last night at home. They will be a bit tired not to mention Dirk Nowitzki is presumably under the weather. I like the Suns to avenge an earlier loss to theses Mavs back on December 4.

Taking: Phoenix(-6.5)(-115)

Final Score:
Dallas 100
Phoenix 128 (win)
